Lots of Windows Allow Lots of Light
The challenges for builder Carl Baker of Sterling Development Group were daunting but the opportunities were plenty. The homeowners selected a lot with severe slope that had been backfilled improperly but featured an amazing view of nature and a 12′ natural waterfall. Baker and his crew could handle the lot issues, so he turned to Don Erickson of Door Store and Windows to help this home take advantage of the beautiful views.
Project Highlights
- Baker chose Integrity Wood-Ultrex windows which feature maintenance-free fiberglass exteriors with the natural beauty of real wood interiors.
- Architect Beverly Baker designed the home with large windows to allow plenty of light and create an open feel to the home’s floorplan.
- Front windows feature grilles for added design while back windows are all glass to maximize views.
- Picture, casement and awning windows were used to create a cleaner, more contemporary design compared to double-hung windows.
- A showcase baby grand piano is surrounded with large, arched windows on three walls.
Results
